Rita Pattni has an international and diverse background with well-rounded work experience.
Rita prides herself on taking a client-centered approach which involves consistent communication, early case evaluations, and resolutions to maximize legal spend, and promote best interests of clients. Rita is multilingual in four languages including Gujarati, Hindi, Kiswahili, and English.
Rita brings an extensive background in commercial litigation and real estate and has handled an array of litigation and transactional matters. Prior to joining Thompson & Coe, Rita worked at a commercial litigation and real estate firm for more than six years, where she represented energy sector clients on the plaintiff’s side during every phase of litigation.
Estate Planning
Rita also maintains a practice focusing on estate planning, probate and guardianship where she regularly represents clients in court for probate and guardianship matters in both contested and uncontested cases. Rita has significant experience in drafting estate planning documents such as trusts, wills, and ancillary documents. She assists clients with sophisticated estate planning needs involving complex family situations such as blended families and business succession planning.
Real Estate
Rita provides litigation support to handle commercial landlord tenant disputes, HOA contract disputes, assists clients with formation of business entities, company agreements, review of commercial leases, transfer of titles, and clearing title deeds.

Represented defendants and unknown heirs in Ad Valorem tax foreclosure cases in tax court resulting in dismissal.
Won a pro bono case on behalf of Houston Volunteer Lawyers successfully defeating Plaintiff’s real property claim in family law.
