Marne Jones focuses on civil defense litigation and insurance coverage matters. She has significant experience handling a variety of litigation, including first and third-party losses in the commercial and residential property context, catastrophic weather claims, marine liabilities, environmental claims, construction defects, personal injury, bad faith, products liability, and professional liability. Marne also has substantial experience in commercial matters, including subrogation claims, breach of contract, fraud, and indemnity disputes.
As a civil defense attorney, Marne prides herself on reaching strategic and cost-effective resolutions. She believes that creativity, consistent communication, and aggressive but efficient strategies achieve the best results for her clients.
Before joining Thompson Coe, Marne was an Assistant County Attorney in Arizona, where she gained considerable trial and advocacy skills.

Obtained grant of supervisory writ before the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal and reversal of trial court’s denial of summary judgment motion on policy exclusions.
Obtained favorable opinion from Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeal regarding reversal of trial court’s denial of insurer’s summary judgment concerning the duty to indemnify as premature.
Obtained favorable ruling from Louisiana Supreme Court overturning award of bad faith penalties.
Obtained complete dismissal of the insurer on summary judgment on the grounds of applicable policy exclusions.
Obtained a $0 ruling in defense of a roofing contractor in a complex arbitration concerning a $20 million loss.
Represented insurers in disputes involving complex indemnity issues and application of anti-indemnity statutes.
Represented clients in mass tort cases involving alleged exposure to toxic chemicals.
Represented offshore oil and gas platform operators in complex defense of wrongful death and personal injury claims.
Represented public entity in a multi-plaintiff suit involving significant bodily injury claims.
Represented primary, excess, and umbrella liability carriers in complex maritime and environmental litigation involving remediation cost disputes, multi-year environmental trigger disputes and policy period trigger disputes.
Represented insurers in commercial and residential property coverage disputes involving property damage and business interruption claims.
Represented insurers in significant bad faith claims.
