Mass Torts
Thompson Coe trial and appellate lawyers use their product liability and toxic tort experience to defend a wide range of clients in complex and mass tort litigation attorneys. Thompson Coe mass tort attorneys have handled everything from individual claims to mass consolidations of “pattern” tort litigation to environmental exposure clusters involving cases in multiple jurisdictions nationwide. We have defended complex tort litigation cases involving multiple products and alleged exposures, including products containing asbestos, silica, bentonite, benzene, ammonium nitrate, and hexavalent chromium, as well as respiratory protection equipment. Thompson Coe represented Phentermine manufacturers throughout Texas in the Fen-Phen litigation. Thompson Coe has also represented an E-Ferol manufacturer throughout the nation.
Thompson Coe has represented 3M over the last 20 years in trials and national discovery for its mass tort product liability cases. We were part of the team that successfully defended 3M in the first case concerning alleged defects in its dust mask and its first NIOSH-approved single-use respirator, and we have been a part of subsequent 3M trial teams that successfully defended these products.
Thompson Coe has had long-term involvement in the mass tort arena ranging from the initial stages of coordinating national discovery efforts and developing trial themes and defenses to trying these cases. The experience of our mass tort lawyers with major cases and substantial issues ensures that all our mass tort defense work is litigated aggressively from the start.
