Cory Reed maintains a diverse professional liability practice defending and counseling lawyers, doctors, nurses, dentists, optometrists, accountants, financial advisors, architects, real estate appraisal management companies, real estate appraisers, real estate agents & brokers, real estate inspectors, surveyors, insurance agents, and other practicing professionals and groups against a variety of complaints and in response to complaints filed with state professional licensing boards.

He also defends clients who have been sued for various intentional torts including assault, battery, libel, slander, defamation, theft of trade secrets and unfair competition claims, and claims arising from alleged breaches of data privacy laws. Cory represents clients in mass tort and product liability defense with an eye toward early and efficient resolution.

In addition, Cory’s practice includes representing employers, managers, and other personnel in employment law matters arising under federal and state law, including matters involving gender discrimination, age discrimination, racial discrimination, disability discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, employment torts, and other legal issues arising in the workplace. Cory also represents business entities, property owners’ associations, association board members, and individuals in a variety of commercial matters.

Cory has first and second chair trial and arbitration experience. The majority of Cory’s work has been in jurisdictions throughout Texas, and he has defended clients in both state and federal litigation.

Cory conducts seminars to various professionals concerning litigation avoidance and other critical issues facing their profession.

Obtained summary judgment on behalf of road construction company pursuant to Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code § 97.002.

Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a commercial construction company in a case involving claims for life-debilitating injuries.

Obtained favorable arbitration ruling on behalf of a national wholesale cash and carry food service supplier based on age and race discrimination claims.

Obtained favorable dismissal of a global executive search firm based on sex discrimination claims.

Represented restaurant chain against claims for violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
