New Form I-9

News from the Department of Homeland Security’s immigration division (USCIS) that is not Immigration Reform – the federal government has revised the Form I-9.
Beginning no later than May 8, 2013, all employers in the U.S. must use the new Form I-9, which can be found at www.uscis.gov/i-9. The new form has few substantive changes, but the layout has changed substantially. Significant changes include:

- A new layout – now 2 pages in length!

- New information requested of foreign nationals such as passport information and telephone numbers for all employees.

- Revised instructions.
Employers may begin using this new Form I-9 immediately and no later than May 8, 2013.
