Thompson Coe Elects Four New Partners

DALLAS– January 2016 – Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, L.L.P. is pleased to announce the election of four new partners – Travis M. Brown, Sean M. Crowley, Christina S. de la Garza, and Andrew J. McCluggage.

Travis M. Brown is a member of the Insurance Litigation and Coverage section and is based in the Dallas office. His practice focuses on representing insurers in coverage disputes and bad faith litigation claims arising under general liability policies, homeowners and commercial property policies, and life, health, accidental death and disability policies, including policies governed by ERISA. Travis also practices in appellate matters before Texas state and federal courts of appeals. Travis attended law school at the University of Texas School of Law.

Sean M. Crowley focuses his practice on defending trucking accident, products liability, premises liability, construction defect, automobile accident, and professional liability claims. Sean has represented numerous businesses and individuals in wrongful death and catastrophic injury claims, including premises owners, product designers and manufacturers, general contractors and subcontractors, trucking companies, and hotels. Sean’s professional liability practice is focused on representing lawyers in malpractice or breach of fiduciary duty claims. Sean has defended lawyers in several areas of practice including: bankruptcy, family, foreclosure and real estate law. Sean is based in the Austin office and is a member of the Products Liability and Mass Torts and Professional Liability sections. He received his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law.

Christina S. de la Garza is a member of the Insurance Litigation and Coverage section and is based in the Dallas office. Her practice focuses on representing insurance carriers in sophisticated coverage disputes and bad faith claims. Christina has ample experience in the areas of commercial general liability, commercial auto and property liability, excess and umbrella liability, and professional errors and omissions coverage. She oversees a variety of commercial claims in both state and federal court, including claims of coverage for construction defects, personal and advertising injury, pollution losses, errors and omissions, and oil and gas industry claims. She also represents carriers and adjusters in coverage disputes, bad faith claims, and other issues arising under homeowners’ and landlords’ policies. Christina’s practice is nationwide in scope, as she frequently deals with the laws of various states including Texas, California, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, and others. Christina received her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. She enjoys cheering on her Longhorn football team, teaching mock trial at Southern Methodist University, and collecting photographs from her travels around the world.

Andrew J. McCluggage is a trial lawyer whose practice focuses primarily on product liability, premises liability, commercial automobile, and industrial accident claims involving property damage, personal injury, and wrongful death. Andy also has experience with construction defect, consumer law, and professional liability claims. Andy has represented clients large and small in lawsuits involving allegations of defects in automobiles and automobile components, tires, industrial equipment, construction equipment and components, oilfield equipment, and marine equipment. Andy is based in the Houston office and is a member of the Litigation, Casualty, and Product Liability and Mass Torts sections.  He attended law school at the South Texas College of Law where he graduated magna cum laude. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys coaching his children’s football and soccer teams, rooting for the Astros and Texans, and recreational aviation.
