Dallas Attorneys Win Complex Commercial Arbitration
Jun 10, 2021
DALLAS, TX – June 10, 2021 – Thompson Coe Dallas attorneys Michael Cedillo and Tom Annis recently prevailed in an in-person arbitration—claimant was awarded nothing against their client.
The complex commercial dispute arose after the claimant (a subcontractor) alleged that the client failed to comply with the termination provision and several other provisions of the agreement. The claimant alleged more than $1.1 million in lost revenue and claimed that it was owed additional payment regarding fifteen separate projects totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars—essentially requiring fifteen mini-trials.
Michael and Tom successfully argued that the claimant had failed to comply with the material terms and conditions of the parties’ agreement. The arbitrator agreed and determined that the client had no obligation to pay the claimant.
