USCIS issued guidance to all employers in the United States regarding the seemingly expired Form I-9.  While USCIS’s recently issued regulations seeking to overhaul the current Form I-9 are going through the regulatory review and comment process, the government has instructed employers to indefinitely continue to use the Form I-9 that has an expiration date of “3/31/2016” (located in the upper right corner).  In the next couple of months we should anticipate transitioning to the new Form I-9, but in the meantime employers are required to continue to use the form with an expiration date of 3/31/2016.

For a preview of the anticipated changes to the Form I-9, please go to www.regulations.gov and enter USCIS-2006-0068.
