Michael Varner focuses his practice on general civil litigation, insurance coverage analysis and litigation, and appeals. He has specialized knowledge in the areas of admiralty/maritime law and has defended Jones Act, 905(b), and general maritime actions.
He has also addressed a wide range of insurance issues and policies, including issues relating to commercial general liability insurance, automobile liability insurance, workers’ compensation and employer’s liability insurance, foreign voluntary compensation and associated insurance, excess liability insurance, umbrella and bumbershoot liability insurance, hull and machinery insurance, and protection and indemnity insurance.
In addition to his civil litigation and insurance practice, Michael has handled numerous appeals and writs of mandamus in both state and federal courts.
