Employees in Thompson Coe's Dallas office recently participated in a two week long food drive to collect non-perishable food items for North Texas children, families, and seniors seeking assistance through the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB). Currently, one in every 4 children and more than 853,000 people in the 13-county NTFB service area live in food-insecure households.

In addition to collecting food and monetary donations for our neighbors, Thompson Coe also provided for the four-legged friends of North Texas by donating food for the Food 4 Paws program. This program, funded through the Communities Foundation of Texas, enables the large-scale distribution of dog and cat food through the North Texas Food Bank partner agencies.

At the conclusion of the drive, Thompson Coe was able to donate 13 boxes of food, 10 boxes of pet food and $1,730 in monetary contributions, which not only surpassed Thompson Coe's donations in 2016, but also exceeded the goals that Thompson Coe had set for this year. To put in perspective, every $1 donated is equivalent to 3 meals for hungry children, seniors and families.

This was Thompson Coe's 9th food drive for the North Texas Food Bank. The North Texas Food Bank (www.ntfb.org) is a nonprofit hunger relief organization that distributes donated, purchased and prepared food through a network of programs in 13 North Texas counties. Thompson Coe looks forward to partnering with them for many years to come to continue the fight against hunger and food insecurity.
