Thompson Coe attorney, Jennifer Aufricht, has been asked to speak at DRI's Damages Seminar on March 24, 2011 at Bally's Las Vegas. Her presentation, Social Networking—Using It to Meet People and Win Cases, will cover popular social networking sites that can be a treasure trove of information for investigation of a plaintiff or witness, as well as a source of impeachment that can be a powerful weapon for the savvy defense counsel. That is, if you know how it works, how to get that information and what to do with it when you get it.  Attendees will hear detailed descriptions of the methods required to obtain information from these sites, so that relevant information can be obtained in an admissible form, and learn about the various options for utilizing this information in the defense of a claim or suit.

From the DRI site: DRI’s 2011 Damages Seminar will explore the finer points of litigation strategy and practice for both seasoned and novice lawyers. Whether your cases routinely go to trial or resolve at an earlier stage, thorough preparation is the key to success. This seminar, led by nationally recognized attorneys and experts, will provide you with the knowledge and tools to maximize your efforts and obtain the best possible results for your clients. Most importantly, you’ll learn strategies, tips and practices that can be incorporated into your trial work immediately.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in our Wednesday program featuring a presentation by a nationally known marketing expert who can help you strengthen your business efforts. Additionally, you will participate in roundtable discussions with attorneys from across the country. This program, included at no additional cost, will provide marketing tips and an opportunity to network with litigators nationwide.
