Benjamin Ritz, Senior Attorney in Thompson Coe's Houston office, recently received the President's Award from the Houston Young Lawyers Association (HYLA) for his contributions as Leadership Academy Co-Chair.
The President’s Award recognizes individuals whose service in the past year exemplifies Houston Young Lawyer’s mission to learn, lead, network, and serve. Benjamin, with fellow committee chair Mariame Aana, reinvigorated HYLA's Leadership Academy to include monthly CLEs with local leaders and social events with Leadership Academy alumni while maintaining the program’s quality during the Covid-19 pandemic. Benjamin was one of eight individuals recognized for their service.
The Houston Young Lawyers Association (“HYLA”) is a dynamic young professionals organization and specialty bar association. Our membership is diverse and consists of attorneys who are 36 years old and under as of June 1, or in their first five years of practice, as well as law students. Each year, we offer an exciting lineup of social networking events, CLEs, and leadership and volunteer opportunities. HYLA was founded in 1937 as the Houston Junior Bar Association and has a rich tradition of community involvement and leadership in the Houston legal community.
