Diego Garcia Speaks at American Bar Association (ABA) Meeting

Office Partner Diego Garcia served as a panelist for the Environmental Issues and Insurance Coverage session of the ABA Litigation Coverage Sub-Committee meeting.  During the session, entitled “Airports, Aquifers, and Algorithms: Expert Witnesses in Environmental Coverage Disputes,” the use of expert witnesses–specifically, the role of a hydrogeologist and fate and transport modeler, which has multiple implications beyond Daubert, was discussed.

Mr. Garcia gave counsel perspective on coverage issues and use of experts, based upon his extensive insurance coverage experience.  In addition to learning about the issues from the standpoint of coverage counsel for policy-holders and insurers, attendees also got the expert’s perspective on how to present complex, technical evidence effectively and where the pitfalls might be for the unwary.
