Thompson Coe attorneys represented a local restaurant in a personal injury / premises liability / slip and fall case in which the plaintiff slipped in salsa that had been spilled on the floor. The plaintiff claimed injury to his knee and back and had past medical expenses of $9,000. Plaintiff’s counsel asked the jury for $186,000, which included past and future medicals, pain and anguish, and impairment.

Our team defended the restaurant against claims that they negligently failed to warn of the spill and failed to exercise reasonable care to clean up the spill. After a four-day trial, the jury found no negligence on either party.
