Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons has achieved a Band 1 ranking for Insurance in Texas for work performed in 2009. The firm also had five attorneys recognized for their work in Insurance and Insurance: Regulation for Texas.

Roger Higgins, a managing partner in the Dallas office, was ranked 2 in Insurance for Texas. Roger was chosen due to the “impressive depth of his expertise in coverage, litigation and reinsurance cases. Of late, he has been advising a major insurer on more than 400 hurricane-related cases, as well as representing another insurer in a class action alleging discrimination in the assessment of policy fees.”

Jay Thompson, a partner in the Austin office, was ranked 2 for Insurance and Insurance: Regulation in Texas. Chambers USA describes him as “widely considered to be an ‘excellent technician and a true insurance regulatory expert.’ He also appears in insurance-related disputes. He predominantly acts for insurance trade organizations such as the Insurance Council of Texas and the Texas Association of Life & Health Insurance, as well as for numerous other insurance-related companies. Recently, he has been advising on multiple property insurance issues, many of which have been connected with Hurricane Ike.

Rodrigo Garcia, a partner in the Houston office, was ranked 3 for Insurance in Texas. According to Chambers USA, Rodrigo “is highly regarded for his comprehensive coverage practice, which encompasses environmental, construction defect, products liability and asbestos and silica issues. His clients include Crum & Forster Insurance and Zurich American Insurance Company.”

Richard Geiger, of counsel for the Dallas office, was ranked as a Senior Statesman for Insurance in Texas. Chambers USA stated, “’Everybody in Texas knows’ Richard Geiger” for his insurance practice. He advises multiple insurance trade organizations, and is long-standing outside counsel to the Texas Automobile Insurance Plan Association.
