Zandra Foley Appointed to Products Liability Section Head
Mar 27, 2017
DALLAS – Zandra Foley, a Houston-based Partner in Thompson Coe’s products liability and professional liability practices, has recently been named Section Head of the firm’s products liability (PL) section. As Section Head, she has been given the responsibility to lead, manage and develop the section to ensure it achieves excellence in all its activities. She is the first female to serve as the PL Section Head and will hold the position until 2019.
Zandra is a seasoned trial attorney who represents clients in complex litigation matters related to products liability, mass torts, malpractice, and errors and omissions. She has first chair trial and arbitration experience, and currently serves as national trial counsel for a national product manufacturer. She represents corporations, manufacturers, insurance agencies, law firms, accountants, financial advisors, engineers, and other professionals in both state and federal courts across the state of Texas.
“Zandra’s career as one of the best trial lawyers in the United States is sky-rocketing and this appointment to PL Section Head is a reflection of that,” said David Taylor, former PL Section Head. “She is a tireless, motivated, and talented attorney and the perfect candidate for the role.”
Thompson Coe’s PL section represents several Fortune 500 companies, including 3M Company, Ford Motor Company, Nissan, Land Rover/Jaguar, Ben E. Keith, and John Deere, and has served as local counsel and liaison counsel in multi-jurisdictional cases, and as regional and national defense coordinating counsel.
Zandra has repeatedly been selected as a Texas Super Lawyer – Rising Star by Law & Politics Magazine, and is active in several national legal organizations, including DRI, ABA and PLUS.
In addition to her legal accomplishments, Foley is very involved on a local level to promote women’s and diversity initiatives. For the past three years she has organized Thompson Coe’s Houston Street Law Program, where the firm partners with Street Law, an organization dedicated to educating diverse youth about law, democracy and human rights, to host a multi-day legal workshop for under-served high school students. Moreover, earlier this year she promoted and sponsored the “Candid Talk: Women at the Bar” event in Houston, which was an engaging, fun and encouraging discussion about women succeeding in their law practice. Due to her efforts, another “Candid Talk” event is set to be held in Dallas later this year.
