Judge Finds No Liability in Houston Premises Liability Case

On Friday, January 13, 2017, a Harris County District Judge issued findings of fact and conclusions of law determining no liability for an indoor trampoline park following a minor’s injuries in a lawsuit styled Justin Macik v. CCADS, Inc d/b/a Sky Zone Houston. Macik, age 17 at the time of the incident, filed a premises liability suit seeking damages after sustaining a tibia and fibula fracture at Sky Zone Houston. This case marked one of the first cases involving premises liability claims against a park for the presence of angled wall trampolines. Plaintiff presented a substantial damage model after having undergone five surgeries following his injuries.
