TDI Issues Guidance to Industry on Freeze Claims

The Commissioner of Insurance has extended the claims handling deadlines imposed by Texas’s prompt payment laws for an additional 15 days.  This extension was originally granted to help insurers respond to the COVID-19 outbreak.  These bulletins (#B-0007-20 and #B-0007-21) confirm this extension remains in effect for purposes of the February 2021 severe weather event.
