Representative Experience

Proceeded to trial on multiple occasions on behalf of Fortune 500 Energy Company and obtained defense verdicts.

Proceeded to trial on multiple occasions for several different Marine Transportation/Marine Service companies of differing sizes and their insurers and obtained defense verdicts.

Successfully handled appeals and writs in Federal, Louisiana and Texas Courts for multiple insurance carriers of varying sizes and insureds.

Defeated several claims through dispositive motion practice thereby advancing the caselaw on Jones Act Negligence and General Maritime Law’s Maintenance and Cure and Unseaworthiness in favor of Vessel Owners.

Successfully defended vessel owner from marine tort claims brought by a town of residents and several quasi-government claimants following a vessel allision by motions for summary judgment (and subsequent appeals) utilizing the marine standard first promulgated in Robins Dry Dock & Repair Co. v. Flint, 275 U.S. 303 (1927).

Successfully recovered sums due and owing to construction contractor utilizing the Louisiana Open Account Statute and other revised statutes protecting subcontractors.

Assisted multiple construction and marine companies by reviewing contracts and handling various contractual disputes related to construction projects.

Successfully recovered sums due and owing to vessel owner utilizing the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act.

Handled and successfully resolved dozens of First Party Claims for major nationwide carrier.

Aggressively defended dozens of casualty cases of all magnitudes and nature on behalf of insurance carriers of all sizes.

Successfully defeated Plaintiff’s claim for alleged exposure resulting in mesothelioma diagnosis by motion for summary judgment.

Assisted several different business owners by organizing their new businesses under the laws of the State of Louisiana.

Successfully defeated several different Plaintiffs’ respective claims for general maritime law maintenance and cure benefits in both federal and state courts utilizing the marine defense first promulgated in McCorpen v. Cent. Gulf S.S. Corp., 396 F.2d 547 (5th Cir. 1968).

Proceeded to trial on many occasions on behalf of vessel owner defendants and their insurers in either first or second chair capacity.

On multiple occasions, successfully defended vessel owners against Jones Act negligence, general maritime law unseaworthiness, and general maritime law maintenance and cure claims brought by former employees by receiving defense verdicts at trial.

On multiple occasions, successfully defended vessel owners against Jones Act negligence, general maritime law unseaworthiness, and general maritime law maintenance and cure claims brought by former employees through motions for summary judgment by receiving judgments dismissing all or some of the respective Plaintiff’s claims.
