Thompson Coe attorney Rhonda Thompson is speaking on Deconstructing a Repair Estimate at the 2015 WIND Conference being held January 19-22 in New Orleans. This course evaluates and presents for discussion issues common to repair estimates presented by representatives of policyholders, including public adjusters, roofing contractors, and attorneys. Scope of the presentation includes consideration of common policy language, estimates and other facts typical to both commercial property claims and residential property claims. The discussion portion focuses on how to present an estimate and then how to respond to these estimates, including update on current trends, legal issues and concerns that routinely confront the insurance industry and policyholders as they work towards resolution of claims before litigation. Co-presenters for this course include Chad Fuller of Calvary Construction & Consulting and Gary Treider of Chaparral Consulting and Forensics.

Rhonda Thompson defends insurance companies, adjusting firms and individual adjusters through bad faith litigation arising from the claims handling of catastrophes, and also counsels them in effectively responding to catastrophe claims and pre-suit demands and issues. Rhonda’s representation includes advising on business income valuation disputes and appraisals both before and after an award is issued, conducting examinations under oath under residential and commercial policies, attending mediations and settlement conferences and otherwise addressing the unique coverage questions that come with adjusting property claims.
