Thompson Coe Expands Labor and Employment Practice

Thompson Coe is pleased to announce the newest members of our Labor and Employment practice, Laura Alaniz Elston and Pamela Woodside. Ms. Elston has joined our Houston office, and Ms. Woodside has joined our Los Angeles office.  Their breadth and depth of experience in labor and employment matters is truly profound, and their addition to the firm diversifies and enhances our capacity to provide superior services to our clients. We are very excited about their arrival to Thompson Coe, and invite you to welcome them to the Thompson Coe family.

About Ms. Elston

Laura Alaniz Elston is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and has been practicing for nearly 20 years. Her practice includes drafting employment contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and anti-competition-hiring-solicitation agreements. She also has successfully defended clients in employment cases and handled employment-related claims before local, state and federal administrative agencies. She has represented employers in all types of employment disputes including suits for wrongful termination, retaliation, harassment and discrimination, wage and hour disputes, disability accommodation, and has litigated claims of tortious interference, defamation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. She regularly advises clients on compliance issues relating to employment-related laws and prevention of claims including counseling clients regarding leaves of absence, layoffs, unemployment compensation, employment handbooks and policies, and conducting employee and management training.

About Ms. Woodside

Pamela Woodside’s legal practice includes litigation in the fields of professional liability, employment practices liability, complex commercial matters, intellectual property, antitrust and general liability. She has been practicing for 15 years and has developed a diversified practice spanning four states. Pamela has represented clients at both the trial and appellate levels throughout the United States in both state and federal courts. In the area of complex commercial litigation, Pamela’s practice includes the defense and prosecution of multi-national corporate entities in multi-million dollar multi-district antitrust litigation; complex technology actions involving patent/trademark and copyright issues and oversight on large-scale e-discovery projects. Pamela also has experience defending real estate claims involving home appraisers, real estate agents and real estate brokers.
