Thompson Coe Announces Seven New Partners

Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, L.L.P. is pleased to announce the election of seven new partners –

John D. Auty is a member of the Insurance Litigation and Coverage section and is based in the Dallas office.  His practice includes commercial property catastrophic loss litigation, commercial dispute litigation, commercial property subrogation litigation, insurance coverage dispute litigation, insurance bad faith litigation, construction litigation, environmental coverage dispute litigation, and environmental contamination litigation. He has resolved insurance coverage disputes for major insurers, and has represented insurers in multi-million dollar environmental litigation.

Brandon E. Berg focuses on handling a variety of casualty litigation claims including multiple semi-tractor/trailer accidents, premises liability claims, automobile negligence claims, uninsured/underinsured motorist claims, dram shop claims, product liability claims, Medicare claims and wrongful death and injury claims. He has first-chair and second-chair experience in state and federal courts throughout Texas. Mr. Berg is a member of the Litigation and Products Liability & Mass Torts sections and is based in Houston.

Eric K. Bowers is an insurance litigator who pursues the interests of commercial lines insurers in state and federal courts in matters involving coverage, priority and allocation, subrogation, Insurance Code and DTPA violations, and bad faith. His experience includes commercial general liability, commercial auto liability, professional (E&O) liability, employer's liability, excess and umbrella liability, and commercial property policies. Mr. Bowers regularly evaluates coverage and priority issues in a variety of industries, including construction, oil and gas, maritime, trucking, and real estate brokerage and mortgage services. In addition to his focus on commercial insurance litigation and coverage, he also prosecutes and defends suits for contractual indemnity. Mr. Bowers is based in the Dallas office and is a member of the Insurance Litigation & Coverage section.

Amy S. Friday is a member of the Litigation and Products Liability & Mass Torts sections and is based in the Austin office.  Ms. Friday’s practice focuses on civil litigation in a broad range of matters with an emphasis in serious person injury litigation, products liability, construction litigation, contract disputes, healthcare regulatory matters, and catastrophic tort matters. She currently represents defendants comprised of corporate and individual clients in state and federal courts throughout Texas.

R. Tate Gorman is based in the Dallas office and is a member of the Insurance Litigation & Coverage section.  Mr. Gorman’s practice is devoted to catastrophe litigation. He has counseled and represented numerous insurance companies in liability and property insurance coverage disputes and bad faith litigation, with an emphasis on complex, multi-party cases involving high-dollar exposures. Mr. Gorman has handled numerous first-party commercial property claims arising out of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Ike. He also has significant experience with coverage disputes involving builder's risk policies, and his practice extends to contract, tort, products liability, professional negligence, deception trade practices and ERISA litigation.

Sarah L. Rogers devotes her practice to civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury, dram shop, products liability, Deceptive Trade Practices Act claims, and contract disputes. She has represented national companies, local business owners, product manufacturers and distributors, premises owners, general contractors, and subcontractors in numerous complex, multi-party cases in various state and federal jurisdictions across Texas. Ms. Rogers’ work in the restaurant, hotel and hospitality industry includes representation of national restaurant chains and nation hotel chains for premises liability and dram shop. In all of her cases, she provides swift investigation and evaluation of the facts in order to provide her clients with cost-effective and practical advice.  Ms. Rogers is a member of the Litigation and Products Liability & Mass Torts sections and is based in Dallas.

Rachael C. Walters is a member of the Labor & Employment and Products Liability & Mass Torts sections and is based in the Dallas office. She represents clients in litigation matters involving personal injury, wrongful death, non-subscriber liability, premises liability, products liability, healthcare liability, dram shop liability, deceptive trade practices, breach of contract and employment discrimination. Rachael’s trial experience includes participating in the defense of her clients against wrongful death, employment discrimination, breach of contract, deceptive trade practices and non-subscriber claims in both court and in arbitration. She has also had success in obtaining numerous summary judgments on behalf of her clients in employment discrimination, personal injury, breach of contract, wrongful death, and dram shop liability matters.
