Biography

Jack Olsen is an associate in the Austin office who handles a diverse caseload with a focus on catastrophic injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, premises liability, and construction defects. He frequently represents construction companies, trucking companies, real estate agents, bars and restaurants, premises owners and health care providers.

Jack is committed to resolving matters quickly and efficiently and assists clients in preventing or mitigating exposure through risk, crises, and claims and litigation management. He has resolved several matters through informal means and through thoughtful dispute resolution, argued contested matters in state court, and proactively keeps clients informed of opportunities to minimize liability and risks.

He is a graduate of Baylor University School of Law. During law school, Jack clerked for the Honorable Stacy Williams, 101st Civil District Court for the State of Texas.

  • Represented numerous business clients in complex, multi-party lawsuits involving premises liability, product liability, construction defect, catastrophic injury and wrongful death;
  • Obtained favorable settlement at mediation for small transportation company involved in personal injury lawsuit
  • Obtained favorable settlements on behalf of a Fortune 100 company involved in personal injury, premises liability, and employment cases
  • Authored and won summary judgment motion on behalf of Fortune 200 technology company in personal injury lawsuit
  • Advised and counseled health care facilities on legislative and regulatory issues;
  • Successfully represented hospitals and long-term care facilities in guardianship proceedings
