Daniel Lockwood is an experienced commercial litigator who focuses on protecting the rights and interests of professionals in all aspects of litigation, from pre-suit investigation to final resolution through settlement, mediation, arbitration, or trial. Daniel’s clients include architects, engineers, attorneys, real estate agents, insurance agents and brokers, accountants, officers and directors, and other professionals. Daniel also advises and represents businesses in matters involving contract and tort claims, allegations of fraud or fiduciary breaches, and claims based on Texas and federal consumer law.
Daniel works closely with the top insurance carriers in the country in defending their customers against all manner of professional liability claims. Daniel understands that aggressive advocacy, creative problem solving, and making the client part of the decision process through open communication produces the best results.
Before joining Thompson Coe in Dallas, Daniel defended sureties nationwide on contract and commercial bonds and in enforcing his clients’ indemnity rights. He also represented national insurers in first- and third-party claims as well as commercial clients on claims relating to fidelity bonds, the Texas Insurance Code, and the DTPA. Daniel’s experience also includes commercial transactions, secured transactions, contract interpretation, partnership disputes, post-judgment enforcement, and appellate practice as an appellate court staff attorney.
