Thompson Coe understands that leadership is essential to the success of our diversity initiatives, which is why our attorneys take initiative not only within the firm, but in the communities in which they practice. Active involvement in affinity groups play a key role in our ongoing endeavors to network with peers, mentor and recruit law students, develop careers and stay engaged with the community.  Prominent examples of our attorneys in leadership roles include:

 Within the firm:

The firm’s St. Paul, Minnesota and Los Angeles, California offices are each headed by female attorneys.  Additionally, six of the firm’s committees are headed by female attorneys and two of the firm’s committees are headed by minority attorneys.

The best evidence of the firm’s commitment to diversity is its new practice group alignment and selection of practice group chairs and vice-chair, which took effect in 2013.  The firm’s focus in making these placements was to increase the involvement of women and minorities in the management of the firm. As a result, the firm has increased the number of practice groups/department leaders held by minorities, women and GLBT attorneys from none to 5 women, 2 minorities, and 1 GLBT attorney.
