A trial lawyer with 35 years experience, Robert Latham has represented insurers in bad faith claim handling cases, toxic tort defendants, public entities in wrongful death and catastrophic bodily injury cases, and private clients in corporate dissolutions, business tort cases, securities arbitrations, trade infringement cases, and corporate raiding matters.
In the course of his career, Bob has also litigated insurance policy rescission and cancellation actions, drafted policy exclusions, and defended reinsurers' interests in ceding company liquidations.
His practice also includes representing travel providers and insurers on health, accident, life, disability and property losses.
Bob continues to represent non-insurer clients in commercial matters, including securities arbitration, trade infringement cases, and corporate "raiding" claims.
A frequent and sought-after speaker, Bob addresses insurers in California and other states for their claim handling and special investigative unit certifications.
Besides representing insurers in bad faith claim handling cases and defendants in asbestos cases, Bob is pleased to have won a $14.4 million wrongful death judgment for a widow and her two children against a foreign company, after it was served under the Hague Service Convention.
