Cory Reed maintains a diverse professional liability practice, including representing lawyers, doctors, nurses, accountants, architects, real estate appraisal management companies, real estate appraisers, real estate agents, and other practicing professionals and groups.  Cory has first and second chair trial and arbitration experience. The majority of Cory’s work has been in jurisdictions throughout Texas, and he has defended clients in both state and federal litigation. 

Cory represents clients in mass tort and product liability defense with an eye toward early and efficient resolution.

In addition, Cory’s practice includes representing employers, managers, and other personnel in employment law matters arising under federal and state law, including matters involving gender discrimination, age discrimination, racial discrimination, disability discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, employment torts, and other legal issues arising in the work place.

Cory also represents business entities, property owners' associations, association board members, and individuals in a variety of commercial matters.

  • Defended Pharmacy Company in National and Texas opioid multidistrict litigation.
  • Defended independent distributor and manufacturer's representative in laparoscopic power morcellator litigation.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of road construction company pursuant to Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code § 97.002.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of commercial construction company in a case involving claims for life debilitating injuries
  • Obtained a defense verdict on behalf of apartment complex owner in a premises liability case involving a gas pipeline explosion.
  • Defended a national real estate investment trust in a jury trial involving claims for wrongful death.
  • Defended a national children’s entertainment company in a jury trial involving claims for traumatic brain injury.
  • Obtained a take nothing judgment on behalf of a law firm and its attorney in a legal malpractice case.
  • Obtained a defense verdict on behalf of a national facility services company in a premises liability case.
  • Obtained favorable dismissal on behalf of Oregon Real Estate Company based on jurisdiction in a professional malpractice suit.  Decision affirmed Bryan v. Gordon, 2012 WL 53333372 (Tex. App.—Houston [14th Dist.] 2012, no pet.).
