- Thompson Coe was founded by Will C. Thompson and R. Vernon Coe. The two opened the office with one secretary in September 1951.
- The Austin office opened in 1999 with 3 attorneys, the Houston office opened in 2001 with 4 attorneys, and the Saint Paul office opened in 2002 with 3 attorneys.
- Thompson Coe now employs over 100 attorneys.
- The firm celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2001.
