Our Approach
Recruit
We actively recruit minority, female and other talented attorneys who represent a broad range of racial, ethnic and social backgrounds. We seek to identify in our recruiting process candidates who not only possess great legal abilities, but also varied life experiences. Our firm’s Diversity Committee remains involved in every facet of our recruiting.
Retain
We have implemented an Associates School Program and individual mentoring partnerships to ensure that our new associates become integrated into their sections, the firm and the practice of law. We strive to understand the needs of our attorneys and to create an environment for their continued success. To foster the growth and development of our attorneys, they are provided opportunities early in their careers to take on challenging, meaningful matters and work directly with clients.
Advance
We provide our associates the skills, training, community exposure and opportunities to succeed in their careers. We have had great success providing our diverse attorneys with critical experience including trials. We take tremendous pride in seeing our attorneys develop, advance, and assume leadership positions in our firm and in our profession.
Our Results
Thompson Coe continues to attract and hire the best attorneys from diverse backgrounds. The number of our minority and female attorneys who advance as Partners of the firm continue to grow, and these attorneys hold positions of responsibility in the firm’s 15 leadership committees.
