Overview Mariah B. Quiroz’ practice focuses on analyzing and litigating complex coverage matters, and bad faith litigation in a variety of areas, including commercial general liability, professional liability, excess and umbrella policies, employers' liability, pollution legal liability, commercial property and auto and personal lines policies.
Mariah represents insurers in coverage and bad faith litigation involving a variety of commercial claims, including claims of coverage for personal and advertising injury, catastrophic bodily injury, pollution and environmental losses, construction defect, property damage, employment-related injuries, contractual disputes and oil and gas industry claims.

Representative Experience
- Represents insurers in the review and analysis of numerous complex contractual issues under multi-state laws including policy analysis in coverage disputes and contractual analysis for indemnification, insurance requirements and priority of coverage where multiple policies are involved.
- Represented an international industrial services company in complex dispute with refinery regarding contractual indemnity and additional insured coverage arising out of a fatal plant accident.
- Obtained summary judgments on behalf of insurer clients regarding their duty to defend and/or indemnify against large-dollar amount claims.
- Represented insurers in appellate matters in United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eigth Circuits, and Texas appellate courts obtaining rulings affirming summary judgments in her clients' favor.
- Second-chaired trial to judgment in client’s favor advertising injury coverage disputes involving theft of trade names and trade secrets.
- Monitored and participated in resolving multiple construction defect cases in South Texas in state and federal courts.
