Overview John B. Kronenberger represents a wide range of health care institutions and individual health care providers. He has represented institutions including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living centers, intermediate care facilities, end stage renal disease facilities and home and community support services agencies. John has represented individual health care providers including doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, licensed professional counselors, physical therapists, pharmacists and others.
John was involved in the defense of a major manufacturer of silicone gel breast implants both in state court and in multi-district litigation, and has also represented pharmaceutical companies in multi-district litigation. He has represented health care providers accused of sexual misconduct in both civil litigation and disciplinary actions, and has also advised insurers directly regarding coverage issues arising from sexual misconduct allegations.
John has spoken at continuing legal education seminars on the issues of deceptive trade practices claims and sexual misconduct claims against health care providers. |
Representative Experience
- Involved in the defense of one of the corporate defendants in the Texas A&M University Bonfire litigation in Brazos County, Texas;
- Represented a major manufacturer of silicone gel breast implants in Texas state courts and in MDL-926, pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama;
- Represented a manufacturer of an over-the-counter pharmaceutical product containing phenylpropanolamine (PPA) in MDL-1407, pending in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, Seattle Division;
- Represented numerous long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities and intermediate care facilities across the State of Texas in health care liability claims alleging negligence involving pressure sores, malnutrition, dehydration, elopement, assaults, falls and restraint issues, medication errors, and claims of abuse and neglect;
- Represents a large, non-profit home and community support services agency providing a wide range of services to its clients;
- Defended an attorney and law firm in a legal malpractice claim alleging negligence in the handling of an underlying medical malpractice lawsuit in which the client alleged that she sustained brain damage as a result of misuse/malfunction of a PCA morphine pump
