Overview

Craig Geraci focuses his practice on civil litigation involving a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, energy services, maritime, and insurance. He has also represented clients in federal securities class action disputes, complex consumer claims, commercial and corporate disputes, and has handled all aspects of an insurance defense pre-trial docket.

 
Representative Experience
  • Represented E&P company in lawsuit involving alleged violations of the Coastal Zone Management Act
  • Defended principals of E&P company in partnership dispute with millions in alleged damages
  • Defended large offshore drilling company in lawsuit regarding decommissioning obligations
  • Member of the trial team that obtained unanimous verdict in three-week jury trial, awarding more than $4 million in contract damages and $2.7 million in fraud and punitive damages
  • Defended E&P company against tortious interference and fraud claims involving purchases of certain oil and gas leases allegedly worth $2 million
  • Represented oil and gas operators against non-operators for alleged breaches of operating and farmout agreements
  • Represented international oil & gas service provider in lawsuit involving breach of a charter agreement
  • Served as special counsel in Halliburton Co. v. Erica P. John Fund, Inc., 134 S. Ct. 2389 (2014), in which the U.S. Supreme Court ruled for his firm’s client on the key issue in the case
  • Presented oral argument regarding the takings clause under the Fifth Amendment in Schooner Harbor Ventures, Inc. v. U.S., 418 Fed. Appx. 920 (Fed. Cir. 2011)
