Overview Amanda A. Williams primarily represents employers, managers, and other personnel in employment law matters arising under federal and state law, including matters involving discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, workers’ compensation, family and medical leave policies, wage and hour disputes, employment torts, and other legal issues arising in the workplace. Amanda represents employers both at the administrative level before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Texas Workforce Commission, as well as in state and federal court.
Amanda’s practice includes advising employers on the implementation of policies and procedures to prevent workplace claims and lawsuits, compliance with various federal and state employment statutes, reviewing and drafting non-compete agreements and separation agreements, and revising company employee handbooks and discrimination policies.
In addition, Amanda has experience in defending commercial and individual clients in lawsuits involving wrongful death, negligence, deceptive trade practices, premises liability, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and dram shop liability. |

- Represents a national restaurant chain in various employment related matters filed in Texas.
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a national security services company in an employment discrimination matter involving claims of gender discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation.
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a franchisee of a national therapeutic massage company in a sexual harassment case on the basis of limitations in a case in which the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issued a for cause finding of discrimination.
- Represented a large company as Lead Counsel against labor disputes with its union in Texas.
- Obtained favorable rulings and dismissals of Charges of Discrimination filed with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Texas Workforce Commission against numerous employers.
- Provided employment related training to managers, human resources personnel, employees, and other representatives regarding premises liability, claims handling, consumer protection and general liability, and various employment law related matters.
- Obtained favorable trial verdict for homeowner in a breach of contract and warranty case.
- Negotiated favorable grievances on behalf of company with its union.
- Arbitrated various individual bargaining grievances on behalf of company against its union.
- Negotiated favorable settlements on behalf of numerous clients in matters involving personal injury, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of employment contracts, age, gender, national origin, disability, and other forms of discrimination/harassment/retaliation, etc.
